Editorial Policy

This page explains how we create and update the tools and guides on Get Tips For Better Life.

Who creates our content

Our content is written by a small independent team. We are not medical professionals, and our content is not medically reviewed. We say this clearly so you can decide how to use what you read here.

Sources we use

We rely on established, publicly available health sources, including:

  • U.S. government health agencies: NIH (including NIDDK, NHLBI and NIA), CDC, MedlinePlus and the Office on Women’s Health
  • Major professional organizations: American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association and similar groups
  • Peer-reviewed research, where it’s directly relevant

Every tool and guide lists its sources at the bottom of the page.

How our tools work

Each tool uses a published formula or guideline, and we explain the method on the tool page. For example, our A1C calculator uses the ADAG formula used by the American Diabetes Association, and our blood pressure log uses the American Heart Association’s categories. Tools give estimates and records, not diagnoses. See the method and source behind every tool on our How Our Calculators Work page.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t claim to have personally tested products unless we actually have.
  • We don’t publish fake reviews, testimonials or author identities.
  • We don’t let affiliate relationships decide what we recommend.
  • We don’t give individual medical advice.

Product reviews

When we write about a product, we research its ingredients, the evidence behind them, pricing and refund terms, and we say clearly what we could not verify. We mark affiliate links and explain how we earn money in our Affiliate Disclosure.

Updates and corrections

We review pages when guidelines change or when a reader points out a problem. If you find an error, please tell us through our Contact page. When we make a meaningful correction, we update the page. We re-check each page at least once a year, and sooner when a guideline changes. To report an error, email contact@gettipsforbetterlife.com with the page link (and the numbers you entered, for a calculator). We aim to reply within 3 business days.

How we create our content

Our team researches each topic, chooses the sources, tests every calculator and checks every number. We use AI-assisted tools to help with research and drafting, and every page is reviewed by a person before publishing. We never use AI to create reviews, testimonials, quotes or author identities.
